On March 23, YMCA hosted an all-day camp staff training at Nova International Schools in Skopje. Attendees included 80 soon-to-be Facilitators, Counselors, Counselors-in-Training, and Support Staff across Young Men’s Leadership Project (YMLP) and Girls Leading Our World (GLOW) — our premier leadership development programs. For the first time, YMCA also welcomed two media interns — Ivo Damjanovski and Vera Solevska who will be on staff to support our communications and social media team.
The day’s sessions were kicked off by the YMCA Leadership Team — Viktor Iliev, Jovche Krsteski, and Marcus Harris. The leadership team took a moment to celebrate the diverse ethnic, religious, and geographical backgrounds of this year’s team as well as introduce YMLP and GLOW staff expectations. Following introductory remarks, participants had the opportunity to break into working groups to discuss topics including: Effective Public Speaking and Facilitation, Campsite Setup / Tear Down, and Managing Behavioral Issues among other topics.
We have an energetic team preparing for YMLP and GLOW 2019, and we know this will be the best year yet! We’re already hard at work designing the schedule and recruiting this year’s group of campers. We’d like to especially thank Nova International Schools for hosting our stay as well as our corporate sponsors OKTA, Mermeren Kombinat, TAV Airports and Kromberg & Schubert for sponsoring the day’s activities. This event would not have been a huge success without you!
